New Conicelli website showcases high-mpg cars just in time for summer travel and high gas prices

PRESS RELEASE - May 6, 2011

Conicelli Autoplex, an automobile dealership near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, announces the unveiling of a unique web site devoted to hybrids and fuel-efficient vehicles from Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Scion, and Toyota.

High-MPG.com has been created to help customers shop for the most economical cars in the most efficient way by contrasting more than 30 models that get over 30 miles per gallon (30 MPG) on the highway.

The many brands and models of thrifty cars shown on High-MPG.com reflect the unique Conicelli car-buying experience. Conicelli has new and used car dealerships for Honda, Hyundai, Nissan, Scion, and Toyota. "Unlike most multi-brand dealerships, our customers can be served start-to-finish by a single salesperson, no matter which make or model of vehicle they wish to see or test drive," says Lori Hammond, Conicelli's Internet Director of Sales.

Hammond adds, "When it comes to fuel-efficient cars, we're not only about one-stop shopping; we're known for first-stop shopping. We are proud of our philosophy and commitment to customer service."

Hammond notes that technology and government regulation bring greater fuel efficiency to the auto marketplace every year. "When you think of getting over 30 miles per gallon, you have to remember that these are no longer sub-compacts alone. There are also roomy SUVs like Toyota's Highlander hybrid, family cruisers like the Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, and Nissan Altima.

Conicelli Autoplex is located at 1200 Ridge Pike in Conshohocken, PA 19428 (Google Maps link). Further information is available from Lori Hammond, Internet Director of Sales, at 610-828-1400 ext. 1208 or by email at lhammond@conicelliautoplex.com.

Conicelli Autoplex Donates Funds to Help Norristown Police's Campaign "Stop the Violence Break the Silence"

Chief Russell Bono of the Norristown Police department is starting a new campaign called "Stop the Violence Break the Silence" to urge community members to cooperate with police to help solve crimes. Conicelli Autoplex has donated the funds needed to produce hundreds of signs and magnets made up bearing the crime-fighting slogan.

"This is just a reminder that people have a civic duty to come forward. Time is a critical factor in developing leads in shootings and murders, but too often people with information that could aid in apprehending suspects keep quiet. It may come weeks or months after the fact." Bono said.

The new cooperation effort is not aimed at law breakers, but instead average citizens. Only with their help can police get dangerous criminals off neighborhood streets.

Officer Saxon
Norristown Police department has 100 signs, 100 car magnets, 500 refrigerator magnets and 1,000 bumper stickers.

For information on how to get signs or magnets, call Officer Saxon at 610-270-2877 or e-mail him at bsaxon@norristown.org.

Conicelli Donates 1,100 Coats for Kids

Conicelli Autoplex donated 1,100 children's winter coats as part of the annual "Driving Away the Cold" campaign to organizations in southeastern Pennsylvania.

"It's a great program," said Dom Conicelli, president of the Conicelli Auto Group. "One of the nice things is that it's pretty direct. Instead of just cutting a check, you get to see the coats delivered into the hands of the people who need them."

Developed in 2008 by the CARing for Kids Foundation, the initiative helps kids in the Philadelphia five-county area. More than 20,000 coats will be distributed this year through distribution centers like the YMCA, including 4,896 in Delaware County.

The foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Automobile Dealers Association of Greater Philadelphia and the Philadelphia International Auto Show.

"We did our drop-off last week and it was great to see the reaction of the kids picking them up," Conicelli said. "Instead of hoping that your donation gets the right place, you can feel it."

The foundation donates 10,000 new coats to the effort each year and then invites dealerships to participate in a month-long "We Pledge" campaign where an additional coat is donated for every car sold in the month of September.

The coats are purchased from suppliers used by Chester County-based Operation Warm.

To learn more about the initiative, visit www.caringforkids.com. To request a coat, call the foundation at 610-279-5229 or the YMCA of Eastern Delaware County at 610-544-1080 or 610-259-1661.

Conicelli is the 1st Auto Body shop certified for PPG/Waterborne use in Pa.

  • Using PPG's waterborne paint helps improve the environment. For a shop that mixes an average of one gallon of basecoat per week, using waterborne automotive paint reduces the emission of VOCs (Volatile organic compounds) by 300 pounds annually.
  • That's the same as eliminating the emissions of more than 1,000 cars per year.
  • At Conicelli this process eliminates appx.18,000 lbs. of VOC?s annually, that would otherwise end up in our atmosphere that compares to the emissions of 60,000 cars.

Conicelli Family Community Projects

During the last 12 months Conicelli sponsorships and gifts have benefited numerous local organizations such as the Kobe Bryant Foundation, Andre Iguodala Youth Foundation, Lupus Foundation of America Southeastern PA chapter, Pathway School of Norristown, Salvation Army, Ss. Cosmas and Damian Church 94th Annual Parish Festival, and the Norristown PAL.

Conicelli Autoplex congratulates the 2010 Harry Mirabile Scholarship recipients, Cashae Hinton and Shohom Basuthakur.

This year's award was presented by members of the late Mr. Mirabile's family.

Ms. Hinton graduated from Norristown Area High School. She has been associated with PAL for over 13 years, has participated in the GNPAL basketball program both as a player and coach. She served as a counselor during the Willie G. Richet Summer Basketball Camp. A point guard for the NAHS Lady Eagles basketball team, Ms. Hinton received the NAHS Sam Williams Award, given to a senior who displays a special talent or interest and is involved in community activities.

Ms. Hinton will be attending Penn State Brandywine Campus, majoring in Education.

Mr. Basuthakur graduated from Kennedy-Kenrick High School. He has been tutoring in the GNPAL After School Tutoring program every Tuesday for the past 3 years. He served at a basketball coach at the Lower Pottsgrove PAL in his freshman year. As a member of the
Kennedy-Kenrick High School Drama Society, Mr. Basuthakur has had many lead roles in their productions. He was the ultimate Valedictorian at Kennedy-Kenrick High School, as the school closed at the end of the 2009-10 school year.

Mr. Basuthakur will attend the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in economics with a minor in Theater Arts.

The Greater Norristown Police Athletic League (GNPAL) honors the memory of former director Harry P. Mirabile, Sr. by awarding several scholarships each year to students pursuing post secondary education at either a college or a trade school. Each scholarship is valued at $1,000. Applicants are required to have volunteered at Greater Norristown PAL at some time in the two years prior to applying.

Harry P. Mirabile, Sr. was a well-known elected official, businessman, and community leader who inspired the idea of revitalizing the former Stewart Armory into the new PAL facility. He was instrumental in starting the fundraising efforts by bringing together the community and the businesses, including Conicelli Autoplex, to raise money to run the PAL Center.
